How To Extract Audio From YouTube Videos

I have mentioned earlier on how to download YouTube Videos and save them on your computer inorder to view the videos offline. The videos are saved in a .flv extension that can be played with a FLV player.

What if you want to rip audio from YouTube videos? Or want to covert any FLV file to AVI,MOV,MP4 or MP3 format?

With the Online FLV Converter at Vixy, you can convert YouTube videos in other formats like AVI, MOV and MP4 or convert the video as an audio only file in the MP3 format. Vixy also lets you covert any FLV file to AVI/MOV/MP4/MP3 format online.

Vixy- Online FLV Converter

When you submit an URL, this service will download and convert the video to your desired format and lets you download the converted file. Vixy allows you to download online videos direct to PC, iPod and PSP for free.

The above trick can also be applied to other video sharing web sites like Google Video and MetaCafe.

If the YouTube Video is on your hard disk as an FLV file, you can use the free FLV Extract utility to extract audio and video from FLV files. The video is saved as AVI and the audio is saved as MP3.

I just wonder if there are good enough videos at Youtube that warrant the audio to be preserved..

    Nevertheless this can be useful

    Hi _AREV,

Online downloader and ripper may not be fully customizable for your need.

I use Zillatube to ripe audio easily and it can be adjusted to my needs. I hope it can help you.

You can perform this operation on your other flv files offline conveniently.

In addition, it can also be used to download and convert youtube to other good quality videos.

By the way, you can grab it at…
    http://www.zillatube.com

got to go now. bye. hope that helps

    Hi,

First I wanted to download some of the YouTube videos, then I wanted to extract the audio from some of these YouTube videos.
Instead of installing one/several softwares I decided to create simple applications online.

    You may find them here:

Extract audio from Youtube videos (or others):
    http://vmeste.fr/data/svs

    Download and convert YouTube videos
    http://vmeste.fr/data/convert

I will soon give the choice to get low or high quality for the extracted audio.

    PS:
As it uses my server’s ressources I added some Google ads… That seems fair.

Hi my name is Mandeep Dalal & i will tell you the simplest way to extrat videos from you tube & other website.Do not waste your money on softwares for this.
First of all download unlocker from
    http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/
    It is a freeware.
    Install it.
Now play video on you tube in you browser.
    Open
    C:\Documents and Settings\Monu\Local Settings\Temp
Here monu is my user name but you have to type your user name for example :
    C:\Documents and Settings\arnold\Local Settings\Temp
    Now arrange icons by modified.
you will see a FLA.TMP file.
Make right click on it & copy it by unlocker.
Save it in your desired folder.
Rename it as FLA.FLV & Play it in your media player.
If you dont have player then download VLC MEDIA PLAYER.

The video I was trying to rip the audio from was 2:33. The first time I tried to download the ripped audio, the .mp3 file was 0:39, so I tried 1) instead of saving the file, opening it with Windows Media Player and 2) downloading and saving the file again. BOTH the latter trials worked in getting an .mp3 that showed up as 2:27 long in Windows Media Player (a little shorter than the .flv?) — but as 18:30 in iTunes! So there are some weird quirks, but try downloading it again or a few times and playing the file through to see if it worked.

    *mattster~
Thanks! I converted it to AAC and it ended up as a 2:34 file. Weird since it went through 2:33, 2:27, 18:30, THEN 2:34, but hey, it worked! :)

Go to http://www.extractvideo.com , then search and download YouTube video as .flv file. Now you can use free “ExtractVideo FLV Converter” (from http://www.extractvideo.com/resources/) and convert the .flv into .mp3

Have something to say?
