Server Problem

Today morning I received a mail saying that my blog was causing problems on the server and needed to be re-installed along with all plugins. It took me a few hours re-installing WordPress and downloading the latest updates of all plugins I use and then activating them.

Till then I had to revert to the default WordPress Theme. The server also had other problems and needed to be restarted often. So I was getting the ’site not accessible’ errors.

At the end of the day the faulty scripts were found and fixed. Everything looks fine now…sorry for the inconvenience caused.

SmartBuster:The smart way to bust data

I have been using SmartBuster for a very long time and it has helped me a lot. It has a lot of useful tools and the best thing is it is free. You don’t even have to install it. Just double-click the 486 KB program to start it.

Of the many tools it has, my favorites are Junk Buster, Ram Cleaner and Windows Buster. I use Windows Buster when I am in a hurry to shutdown Windows. It shuts down Windows under 2 seconds!

Shuttle for WordPress Launched

The Shuttle project began over a year and a half ago, aiming to beautify the WordPress administration panel. With the help of Khaled Abou Alfa, Michaeil Heilemann, Chris J Davis, Joshua Sigar, Joen Asmussen, Ryan Boren and Bryan Veloso, Shuttle has finally taken off.

To get a better sense of what Shuttle is, I recommend you take a look at some of the screenshots. Shuttle is not a plugin you can download, instead it will be integrated into the next version of WordPress. The Shuttle team has worked closely with Matt Mullenwegg, lead WordPress developer, to seamlessly incorporate their efforts into WordPress.

Review this site

I would love to know your opinion about this site, it’s content, design and other stuff. Also suggestions on what type of posts you would like to see on this site are welcome.

I posted for a review on TechSpot’s forum and here’s the response I got:

I liked the content more than the design part but I am sure some bright pleasing layout will improve the site a lot :-)

Basically the colors are not soothing, gives me a feeling to leave the site quickly…

Nice adaptation of K2, and the content is quite good. Thanks for keeping us updated with the latest news.

What do you think? Is my header graphic not good? Should I rework my site’s layout and colors?

Comments from all readers are welcome :-)

Gmail Pictures coming soon

Users of Gmail will soon experience a new feature called Gmail Pictures. The new feature basically lets you see who has emailed you, almost like an avatar in instant messengers.

The new feature won’t be available for all users at once, it will be rolled out slowly just like the chat feature did.
