WordPress Plugin: Full Text Feed

If you have upgraded your blog to WordPress 2.1, you might have already noticed that if you use the <!–more–> feature it will cut off your posts in RSS feeds. This can be really annoying if you prefer full feeds.

CaveMonkey50 has created a WordPress plugin called Full Text Feed that prevents WordPress 2.1+ from adding a ‘more’ link to your RSS feed.

Installation

Unzip full_feed.zip, upload the full_feed.php file into your plugin directoy and activate the plugin.

Vizu Answers Now Shows Payment And Earnings History

Vizu Answers A few days back when I reviewed Vizu Answers, a reader complained that it does not display previous months earnings.

I too had noticed that once a new month begins there was no way to find the earnings of the previous month. I searched their menus, but found no option to check the last months earnings, so this was one of the drawbacks I found with Vizu Answers.

But not anymore…today while I logged in to my account, I found two new options in their ‘Account’ menu – ‘Payment History‘ and ‘Zone Earnings History‘. That’s right, Vizu Answers implemented these features recently and now we will be able to find out how much we earned in each month and our current balance since the last payment :)

I hope Vizu Answers continues to improve.

Vizu Answers: Monetizing Your Site With Polls

Vizu AnswersVizu Answers helps you earn extra revenue from your site by placing interactive Polls on desired topics, instead of text links or graphic ads that irritate your visitors. They pay you based on CPM (Cost per thousand impressions) just like Tribal Fusion, and you even get to set the minimum CPM rate for each poll you put up on your website. However, remember that Vizu will take 50% of the CPM rate you set. So if you set $2 as the CPM rate for your poll, you earn $1 for every 1000 times your Poll is displayed.

Vizu will always try to maximize your rate and will automatically raise it to meet strong demand. If you are unsure about what price to set, Vizu recommends charging about what you earn for an individual ad unit in a similar location.

Tribal Fusion

Tribal FusionTribal Fusion is the leading site representation company with a monthly reach of 19 billion impressions and 176 million users worldwide. Tribal Fusion’s payment is calculated based on Ad impressions. So the higher your website traffic is, the more revenue you will get.

I decided to try out Tribal Fusion as I did not want to depend entirely on Google AdSense. Tribal Fusion accepted JohnTP.com on January 15, and I earned $123.88 last month. [Note: I started earning only from the 15th of the month and in between I did some tests that made me earn only about $3 for 5 days and I could not check my earnings as I was not at home at the time]

WordPress Plugin: Top Posts by Category

I have mentioned before the importance of a Top Posts page – it makes it easier for visitors to find the best content on your blog without having to dig through your archives and helps you to to get them to subscribe to your feed and convert them to regular readers easily.

Until yesterday I was manually listing out important posts on my Top Posts page. But it is no more needed to do it manually thanks to Marc Macalua who contacted me yesterday as soon as he finished his Top Posts by Category plugin.

Top Posts by Category is a plugin for WordPress that allows bloggers to display their best posts categorywise, as determined by the number of visits to the post or number of comments.

You can view my Top Posts page (by number of comments) in action here.

Instant Messaging through Google AdSense Ads

Once while I was reading some posts on Problogger.net, I came across this interesting AdSense Ad by John Chow.

AdSense Ad on Problogger.net

The Ad was so different that I was tempted to click it and visit John’s blog. A few weeks later I started seeing the same type of AdSense Ad on this blog too.

  • wp-admin/post.php
  • wp-includes/classes.php
  • wp-includes/functions.php

  • wp-includes/version.php

Also, the next major version of WordPress (2.1) is due out by the end of the month :)
