Due to the recent PageRank drop I faced by selling text links on this blog, I decided to remove Text Link Ads and let TLA team know about it by sending them the following email:

Dear Text Link Ads Team,

I will stop using Text Link Ads at the beginning of next month (November
1st) due to the recent PageRank drop I faced by selling text links on my
blog (www.johntp.com).

My blog had a PageRank 6 and now its dropped to 4.

I will be uninstalling the Text Link Ads plugin next month (November 1st).

and they replied back that they had refunded all the advertisers, meaning the advertisers had almost one month of FREE advertising on my blog!

Besides this blog being inactive for some time, the RSS subscribers thankfully still kept increasing and today reached over 2000 subscribers for the first time.

I want to thank all the subscribers for reading my blog, and if you are not a subscriber yet please make sure to grab the RSS feed.

Besides breaking the 2000 mark, another happy news for me is that JohnTP.com is going to be 2 years old next month making me a 2 year old blogger too!

Btw, I updated the blog’s color scheme to blue/white as most of the commenters had suggested it here. Hope you liked it.

I had been planning to redesign this blog for a long time and also had drawn a rough sketch of how I wanted the new design to look like but it was delayed due to many reasons. But after finding that many of the blogs I read got redesigned recently, I too felt that it was time for me to do the same.

I worked on the new design for a few days and finished with it yesterday and also tested it on Firefox, Opera, IE 6 and 7. Everything looks fine so far but I still have a few things to do like optimizing the CSS, removal of useless plugins and some other things to decrease page load time.

After viewing the video over at Problogger.net that gives a short tour of Darren’s home office, I too created a similar one showing my PC and the chair I use while blogging but the video is not all that good as I have never tried this before nor do I know anything about video editing. The video is not of good quality either as I filmed my PC with my Nokia N73 Music Edition which has just a 3.2 megapixel camera.

It’s been some time since I wanted to get rid of my old Nokia 3330 and own the Nokia N95 or the Apple iPhone. But ever since I came to know that the battery power of Nokia N95 doesn’t even last a day and is a bit expensive too, I decided to go for some other mobile phone until the iPhone is released at my place.

Also I heard that the iPhone has only a 2 megapixel camera, if that is true I am not sure if I want to buy it as I want to take good quality images and videos.

I did a research for a few days to find out the best mobile phone that can fulfill my needs. What I basically needed was a good camera and a music player, the Nokia N73 Music Edition with its 3.2 megapixel camera looked like the perfect choice for me.

I purchased Nokia N73 music edition yesterday using this blogs earnings and have been testing out its camera and music player ever since. The mobile phone offers good sound quality and I liked the camera too except that at low light conditions, the image and video quality is often low.

After I revealed this blog’s traffic summary of April 2007, I got a few requests to do this on a monthly basis. So I thought of doing it this time too, and I revealed my AdSense earning this time since many people keep asking me.

On May 2007, this blog had 159,304 unique visitors and 252,305 pageviews according to Google Analytics.

What about this blog’s earnings? Through my highest earner, AdSense, I earned $1,218.75. Close to what John Chow earned through AdSense - $1,246.50

My PC keeps giving me various problems and kept me offline again for days. So I bought a new PC using my AdSense Earnings.

The sad part is that I got the new PC with a few viruses and I had a tough time removing them as I did not have an Anti-Virus installed and the virus kept restarting my PC frequently

When Microsoft released IE 7, I thought that all my IE problems would be over, but I was wrong. It just doubled…now I have to check my designs both in IE 6 and 7 as I have 30.63% of my traffic using IE 6 and 10.69% using IE 7.

After I designed my new theme, readers reported it to be completely messed up in IE 6 which I had not noticed as I had upgraded to IE 7. What do I do now?

Should I remove IE 7 and install IE 6? But I will have to check my design on IE 7 too as it may cause problems that IE 6 does not

I am very confused. What should I do?
