Blogg-Buzz Gets A New Look And New Features

Blogg-Buzz, a Digg like site for bloggers, has been redesigned and is much faster now and includes some new cool features! For those of you new to Blogg-Buzz, it is a blogger driven community, exclusively for bloggers to share, discover and promote blog posts that they find interesting. After you submit a story, other bloggers will read your submission and buzz the story if they liked it. If your post rocks and receives enough buzzes, it will be promoted to the front page where more bloggers will find it.

Blogg-Buzz is not just for submitting blog posts, but also to find interesting bloggers around the world and to get closer to them. Blogg-Buzz can also be useful for those who want to find the best content on the Blogosphere and can give your blog good number of readers when you make a good post and reach the front page.

What all you can do on Blogg-Buzz

What can you do as a Blogg-Buzz user? Lots…you can submit stories in Blogg-Buzz, vote for others stories, comment on stories and go into deep discussions, spy on who is buzzing, find out the Top Buzzers, add friends, send Private Messages to other Buzzers and even chat with them! So, it can be real fun once you start using Blogg-Buzz.

Unlike in Digg we will not ban you for submitting your own blog posts, as long as they are good posts.

Ever since we launched Blogg-Buzz, we got complaints about its speed and design. This time, Blogg-Buzz is much faster and also got a new design. We also added a few more categories that some members requested last time, if you find that we have missed out an important category, do let us know.

Members will now be able to un-vote the stories they voted for and also report bad stories. Once a bad story gets enough reports it will be automatically removed.

Other new features

• Related Posts – Added a new related stories feature to every story page so you can easily find the related stories
• Top stories in category – displays the Top stories of each category
• Search for Buzzers – On the profile page users can now search for other buzzers
• Save stories – Added a new feature that lets users save or bookmark any stories they want. The stories are saved under a new tab called “Saved” in their profile.
• Improved Top Buzzers page – Top Buzzers list is now listed according to the total buzzes of a user. So to be the Top Buzzer, keep buzzing all your favorite stories.
• Avatars in Top Buzzers page – avatars are now shown next to user names in the top buzzers page
• Vote counts in sidebar – Now in the sidebar you can view the vote counts for each story
• Avatars in view friends page – Now when you view your friends you will be able to view their avatars next to their user names
• Vote count in RSS feeds – The vote count for each story has been added to the RSS feeds.
• Chat: Other than the feature to private message a user, you can now chat with other members!

Joining Blogg-Buzz

This time we had to start with a new database because before the redesign, lots of non-bloggers had registered and submitted stories from non-blogs. So those of you who had registered earlier, will have to register again.

And one more thing..you are not allowed to register at Blogg-Buzz directly this time. We had to do this to prevent non-bloggers from registering and to keep up the quality of the stories.

To join Blogg-Buzz, you will have to send us the username you wish to use, your email and the list of blogs you own through this contact form in this way

Regarding: Blogg-Buzz Invitation

Message: My blog is www.yourblog.com

We will NOT register an account for you unless you mention the blogs you own. We need to know the blogs you own to verify that you are a blogger. Please mention the username you would like created in the name field.

Once again, make sure you send us the username you wish to use, your email and the list of blogs you own, else we won’t be able to register an account for you.

Once we check your blogs, we will register your account and you will receive an activation link to your email which you have to click to activate your account at Blogg-Buzz.

After activating your account, you can login with password ‘bloggbuzz123‘ (without the quotes). Don’t forget to change the default password once you login. Also add an avatar

Please follow these guidelines while submitting stories

1. Must be a blog post: Please submit blog posts only (no blog homepage), stories from non-blogs will be removed.
2. Quality Content: The blog post you submit must be of good quality, or it will be reported by other buzzers and will be removed automatically
3. Link Directly to the Source: Save people time by linking directly to the original blog post.
4. Search First: Avoid duplicate submissions by searching to make sure someone else has not submitted the story already.
5. Be Descriptive: You are the story editor, so explain what it is and why it is cool.
6. Proper Category: Please make sure that you submit your story in the most appropriate category.

Improving Blogg-Buzz

We have some ideas that would have made Blogg-Buzz more than a Digg like site, but implementing them will need time and money to hire an experienced programmer.
