I bought a new PC

17 inch LG LCD Monitor My PC keeps giving me various problems and kept me offline again for days. So I bought a new PC using my AdSense Earnings.

The sad part is that I got the new PC with a few viruses and I had a tough time removing them as I did not have an Anti-Virus installed and the virus kept restarting my PC frequently :(

Anyways, here’s the configuration of my new PC:

Creative Inspire 5.1 Speaker

  • Intel Pentium D 945 3.40 GHz Processor
  • Intel 945G Motherboard
  • 17-inch LG LCD Monitor
  • 250GB SATA 2 Seagate HDD
  • 2 GB DDR2 RAM
  • Sony DVDR/RW Drive
  • Creative Inspire 5.1 Speaker
  • Logitech Keyboard
  • Logitech Optical Mouse

I am quite happy with my new system as it is so much faster than my old Pentium 4 PC.

When I was back online, I found that I had 5320 unique traffic yesterday and 75 Technorati favorites :D

Thanks to all of you :)

By the way, I would like to buy a Computer chair too, I hope you can recommend me a nice one.

Congrats on your new rig, John! Looks like a pretty sweet kit to me, and a rather universal one too.

I’ve got a very similar box, but I’m still on P4 3Ghz level, and haven’t had the real need to get a newer system. Instead, I recently got myself a 21″ LCD from Samsung (214T).

All the best, hope all your viruses are gone now and you’ll enjoy a better box to write your articles on.

    Talk later,
    Gleb

That’s a pretty decent config and should keep you going for another 1.5 years without any problems if you throw in a graphics card with DX 10 capability.

    Kat- Thank you

Gleb Reys- I should have bought atleast a 19-inch Monitor

Madhur Kapoor- Thanks a lot for reminding me about Carbon, but do you think it will work under this configuration without a Graphic Card?

Shivaranjan- yes, I am waiting for DirectX 10 to be released first.

    Now that is nice :)

I’m due an upgrade, had this thing over 2 years now. Luckily I got (could afford) the best machine available at the time so it’s still going pretty strong.

    Congratulation John.
But I disagree with Zigire since you should have bought a new generation CPU..and here I mean the great core 2 due!
and to be more specific I mean E6600! it`s the best! and since u got 2Gb RAM that system was the best for all time!
I think it`s very expensive in india as in middle east(if it`s available first!) but it`s really worth it!
anyway congratulation and keep up the good work ;)

Enblogopedia- Core 2 Duo is available in India, and I should have bought that, but this configuration itself was costly :(

“So I bought a new PC using my AdSense Earnings.”

Hey, with my $0.42 adsense earnings so far I don’t think I can run to a CDR :-(

Good luck to you. Unwrapping a shiny new PC is a special time. Did you film it for an ‘Unboxing’ video ;-)

oh my god…. Your computer spec is awesome…
How does it cost over your country on this computer spec…

If your computer keep on startup… checkup your startup program… Try to use safe mode to scan your HDD.

I love the speaker system. I have been discovering and playing music the past few months on my computer and would love a 5.1 system. Time for the after-Christmas sales! BTW I just found your blog and have enjoyed reading past posts.
