Many users in India still use 800x600. Some cyber cafes with old machines have that only :(

This is great information. Quite a few of my sites have the same characteristics, people going to the higher resolutions. The good news is it places a lot more content 'above the fold' which is prime real estate in a browser.

Wonderful! For all my previous layouts I built each one to fit the 800x600 screen. It greatly limited the scope of my design and got real frustrating for a while. But for my latest site revamp I threw caution to the wind and designed it according to the 1024x768 screen. It looks a lot better now, both readability and aesthetics wise.

Oh yeah my site visitors are largely 1024x768 screen users too!

I think this is great news. But it also means that Web Designers may have to redesign their sites to make them display well on 1024x767 as they may have given importance to 800x600.
