Hi johntp, yes i know the post is old, but since you published it, i modified the Andrew’s shoutbox by adding a spam filter, a sound alert and some others cool stuff. i suggest that you have a look on it, by yourself, on my blog .

Hi, Chrono – Seems you have a lot of things disabled in your browser.

There is a small checkbox below which users can check if they want to subscribe to a comment.

It’s just that the checkbox will be ticked by default.

Actually Chrono, I have disabled the AJAX Shoutbox plugin because I received many spam and not much users were using it.

Also, a funny thing, the Link Category Names such as Most Popular, friends,etc does not show when the plugin is enabled.

So I had to disable it. I will enable if you want

What did you mean? I have set the default option to subscribe

Hmm…John seriously no? If I had I would have commented. I thought it’s cause I disabled images but now I enable and still don’t see it.

BTW, John a good use of K2 in your site. First time I viewed it with images and the whole site gave in me one word only “NEAT!!” simple and neat… The banner is great IMO!

Though the font is too small the website is very very …. neat.. LOL!

And hmm…. Are users automatically subscribed to a comment?

No, I do not know any Shoutbox script for websites yet. I will let you know when I find one
